Due to accreditation rules, educators can no longer be appointed to exam and standard setting committees. When current educators who are on these committees rotate off, they will be replaced by technologists working in that discipline. That said, we continue to need help from educators. Here are some ways they can help ARRT with our exam development process:
· Educators can volunteer to serve on our practice analysis committees, including those for postprimary disciplines. If, for example, you are a radiography educator that teaches one or more classes in mammography and have that certification, please indicate that on the resume or CV that you submit to the volunteer portal. Please update your resume at least every three years, even if there have been no changes.
· ARRT encourages educators to comment on our proposed documents. Program directors will receive an email when primary discipline documents are available for public comment.
· Educators can encourage their graduating students to volunteer with ARRT after they pass their exams. A volunteer must be certified and registered in that discipline and also working in it. Since our exams are for entry-level technologists, ARRT needs those who are in the first several years of their career, along with more experienced technologists, to be on our committees. Information about different committee opportunities is on the volunteer portal.
