Thank you to our volunteers who attended the ARRT hosted virtual Item Writing Workshop last week. Item writers write questions that are reviewed by our exam committees and may become part of our certification exams. We now have an additional 14 item writers representing seven different disciplines.
In preparation for the workshop, item writers completed online training modules, and used that training as the basis for their item writing. Further training was then provided at the workshop in ARRT grammar and formatting styles, cognitive modeling, referencing items and adding images, item review, and the item payment processes. Training lasted two full days and included small group breakout sessions for peer review of newly written items. Visit our Item Writer Informational Documents page to learn more about the training topics.
If you'd like to learn more about item writing or become an item writer, be sure to update your profile and indicate your preference to volunteer in item writing. You may also contact us at volunteers@arrt.org and we can add you to the list of potential attendees for our next item writing workshop in August of 2023.
We encourage you to refer fellow colleagues who may be interested in writing items to the Volunteer Portal where they can create an account and indicate their preference for item writing.
