Ken Petrie has been an item writer and has volunteered on the Radiography Exam and Standard Setting Committees.

When did you start volunteering with ARRT?

"Approximately 2014. I've been registered since 2010"

What type of volunteering have you done with ARRT?

"Started as an Item Writer (still am!), and have also served on both the Radiology Exam and Standard Setting Committees."

What did you enjoy the most about being a volunteer with ARRT?

"Although the pandemic put a damper on it toward the end, I very much enjoyed taking biannual trips to the Twin Cities. After a few meetings, seeing my fellow committee members started feeling like meeting up with old friends."

If you could give advice to someone who is interested in volunteering with ARRT what would that be?

"I couldn't recommend it enough. Being a volunteer keeps your technical knowledge sharp, looks great on the resume, allows you to form relationships with other techs/doctors/specialists from a variety of backgrounds, and the ARRT, itself, is such a wonderfully accommodating organization to work with, overall. Sign up yesterday!"

What do you like to do when you are not working or volunteering with ARRT?

"I'm a VO artist (ads, audiobooks, etc), so that obnoxious ad you hear between songs for a sporting event, mobile game, or 24hr plumbing might just be yours truly!"

The Radiography EDC, Ann Miller. says, "I love reviewing Ken's submitted items, especially those with graphics or images.  During our virtual meetings Ken is always one of the first there and one of the last to leave.  You can tell he is very dedicated to the field of radiography."

From ARRT, we thank you for all that you do Ken Petrie!
