Robin Clark has been a Vascular Interventional Radiography item writer and has volunteered on the Vascular Interventional Standard Setting and Exam Committees.

  1. What first prompted you to volunteer with the ARRT?

"I was prompted to be an AART volunteer because I felt as though it was important to share my time,

experience, and knowledge with others. By volunteering I could gain a better understanding of the issues

in our field and narrow the gap. I had recently taken my Vascular Interventional Examination and felt as

though I could provide feedback on the exam to ensure we have the very best technologists in our field!  But

mostly I wanted to challenge myself and try something new."

  1. When did you start volunteering with ARRT?

                   "I started volunteering in 2016."

  1. What type of volunteering have you done with ARRT?

"My first Committee was the Standard Setting Committee in 2016. Then from 2017-2021 I was on the

Vascular Interventional Examination Committee. I am presently on the Item Writer Committee."

  1. What did you enjoy the most about being a volunteer with ARRT?

"While volunteering I have gained skills I can use in my everyday life as well as my current position such as

team work, effective communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. Mostly it has allowed me

to meet and learn from a wide range of people while developing lasting relationships."

  1. If you could give advice to someone who is interested in volunteering with ARRT what would that be?

"The best advice I could give is to step out of your comfort zone, challenge yourself and do it! You won't regret

it. Volunteering allows you to be involved, and gives the opportunity to interact with a wide range of people and make a

                 difference."

  1. What do you like to do when you are not working or volunteering with ARRT?

"I love going to the lake, sewing and embroidering. I also enjoy working out, trying to stay fit. What brings

me the most joy is spending time with my two grandchildren!"

Jennifer Edwards, the VI EDC says, "Robin has consistently submitted items over the course of her contract, which is no easy task. It is easy to write items that have to do with basic anatomy, but Robin challenges herself (and VI candidates!) by writing higher level reasoning items. I appreciate the time she takes to transform her experiences in the lab into items that assess the candidate's ability to safely perform their role as a Vascular Interventional Radiologic Technologist."

From ARRT, we thank you for all that you do Item Writer Robin!
