Over the next month, the Practice Analysis Committees for Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, and Radiography will convene to review public comments on proposed updates to the content specifications and clinical competency requirements. Candidates have 24 months from the date of their first documented procedure to complete clinical competency requirements. Those who begin documenting under the current standards may complete their requirements under those same standards.
These revised documents will take effect on February 1, 2027, for both Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Therapy and March 1, 2027, for Radiography. They will remain in place for five years, unless significant developments in the field necessitate an interim update.
