ARRT Exam Production Associate (EPA) Role
The role of an Exam Production Associate (EPA) in the Exam Requirements and Psychometrics Department for the ARRT varies from day to day. One day we may have a committee meeting to host, and another day we may be deep into exam production. We correspond with volunteers and make sure they have what they need for the role they perform. We enjoy hearing interesting stories about our committee members' hobbies, families, pets, and the places they live and work.
You might see us in a virtual meeting making sure everyone is present and able to connect. On occasion, we text or call someone to join a meeting and discover they have a family emergency or accidentally slept through their alarm. During the meeting, an EPA may edit an image based on committee input. For example, we may move an arrow or darken an image using Adobe Photoshop.
It is fascinating to see the variety of images and videos we receive from our volunteers. We are creating an image/video library to help volunteers who write questions for exams, especially for those who have limited access to them in their work settings.
EPAs correct grammar and formatting of exam questions and ARRT's discipline documents. We rely on a style guide to make sure our questions are professionally written and as comprehensive as possible.
EPAs also help maintain the bank where we keep our exam questions by processing new questions, editing and attaching images and videos to questions, transferring questions across disciplines, and removing questions that are no longer used.
EPAs cover many behind the scenes details and we are happy to answer your questions or direct you to the people who can!
