Volunteer Qualifications
Qualification documents are required for those that have been selected to participate on any of our committees or as item writers. However, you may be wondering why we require so many different qualification documents to participate on an ARRT committee. To answer that question, we have included a brief explanation of each document below.
Committee Contract:
This contract is required for everyone who participates on a volunteer committee. We want to make sure that we protect both you and ARRT, and a contract does that! For example, many of our committees will have access to confidential information like test items. Our committee members agree to not to divulge confidential information in any way. We also agree to keep records of your participation confidential. As a committee member, you will learn new ways to optimize your own professional performance by collaborating with professionals from across the country.
Item Writing Contract:
This contract is required for everyone who joins us as an item writer. Like our committee contract, we want to make sure we that both you and ARRT, benefit from your participation. We will train you in item writing techniques and pay you for the items you write. If you are an item writer, we will need to you to update this contract every year.
Disclosure Statement:
All committee members and item writers are required to complete the Disclosure Statement. This lets us know if you have any potential conflicts of interest. Having a conflict of interest may or may not prevent you from participating on the committee. In some cases, it just means that we need to help you provide the correct language in your practice using a disclaimer statement. However, if you participate as part of a policy making body for another organization such as ACR, ASRT, SNMMI, an accreditation review committee, or participate in developing or delivery of examination review courses, we will ask that you join us once your commitment to those organizations is complete. We need you to update the Disclosure Statement every year.
Travel Insurance Beneficiary Form
Whether it's helping us from a virtual location, or traveling to and from ARRT in St. Paul, Minnesota, you are covered through our travel insurance. We ask for very personal information on this form. We respect your privacy, and we will keep your information secure. We ask that you update this information every three years and will notify you when that update is due. If you would prefer to decline the Travel Insurance, a waiver is attached to the qualification document which you must sign and date.
W9
We are delighted to be able to offer you an honorarium for your participation on our committees. If you are an item writer, we will pay you for your items. Because there is a financial transaction between you and ARRT, we are required to report that information to the IRS. If you feel uncomfortable providing us with this information, you are welcome to waive the honorarium (committee members only) and we will NOT require the W9 information. We ask that you update this information every three years and will notify you when that update is due.
Virtual Meeting Security Agreement
The Covid-19 pandemic brought new opportunities for ARRT to participate with our examination committees virtually, but it also requires additional precautions to keep our confidential ItemBank information secure. This agreement outlines the conditions under which we will allow virtual participation. We will ask exam committee members to agree to these conditions and reaffirm their commitment to participating virtually every year.
