Victoria Glassman has been on the Fluoroscopy Exam Committee.
What first prompted you to volunteer with the ARRT?
"I have been involved in education for most of my career as a technologist, moving through various roles as a clinical instructor, education director, and radiography program faculty. The idea of learning how certification examinations are constructed and reviewed was fascinating to me, as it was not something I was familiar with."
When did you start volunteering with ARRT?
"I started volunteering with the ARRT four years ago."
What type of volunteer work have you done with ARRT?
"I've been serving on the fluoroscopy exam review committee for four years. I have also been involved with the RCEEM/SLA meeting the ARRT conducts in my role within our local state society in Massachusetts for about seven years."
What did you enjoy the most about being a volunteer with ARRT?
"I enjoyed the opportunity to learn firsthand how statistics are gathered and reviewed when considering test questions. I've also really enjoyed the chance to meet other professionals such as physicists and MDs who are also on the committee. It's interesting to hear everyone's unique perspective during the process of committee work."
If you could give advice to someone who is interested in volunteering with ARRT what would that be?
"Definitely try it! The ARRT, as a registry organization, is unlike a hospital or college program. Volunteer work with the organization offers a really unique perspective that you wouldn't have the chance to see otherwise. You will get a much better and fuller understanding of the structure and operation of your own profession, as well as how decisions are made."
What do you like to do when you are not working or volunteering with ARRT?
"When not working or volunteering with the ARRT, I like to be outdoors, primarily hiking. The mountains are definitely my favorite place to be in the summer!"
The Fluoroscopy EDC, Ann Miller, says, "Victoria has been part of the Fluoroscopy Exam committee since 2017 and has been a wonderful asset to this group. Her work in reviewing items outside of meetings has truly helped with our work during an exam committee meeting (which by the way - she has never missed a meeting). I am looking forward to connecting Victoria with other volunteer opportunities and using her many talents to help support our mission."
