A practice analysis, also known as a job analysis, takes into consideration the tasks a technologist does on the job. Because our profession changes so quickly due to technological advancements and other factors, a practice analysis is conducted roughly every five years.
This fall, a committee of volunteer technologists and radiologists for Bone Densitometry, Breast Sonography, and Computed Tomography will each meet and have a detailed discussion to determine what may have changed in these fields since the last practice analysis.
From this discussion, a survey of tasks will be created and sent in January 2024 to a random selection of technologists working in these disciplines. Survey results will be used to update the examination content specifications, clinical experience requirements, and CQR structured self assessment content specifications. If you receive a survey, PLEASE complete it. We want our examinations to reflect what is currently being practiced, so your input is vital.
