What first prompted you to volunteer with the ARRT? What first prompted you to volunteer with ARRT?

I love being involved and I am committed to reaching for excellence in breast imaging and new technologist education.

When did you start volunteering with ARRT?

I started volunteering in 2021.

What type of volunteering have you done with ARRT?

I have been involved volunteering on the Mammography Exam Committee.

What do you enjoy the most about being a volunteer with ARRT?

It is great to be in committee meetings with so many knowledgeable people in the field of breast imaging. Getting to share ideas and brainstorm with such intelligent people allows me to widen my own knowledge base in imaging.

If you could give advice to someone who is interested in volunteering with ARRT, what would that be?

Jump in! It's a lot of fun, really engaging, and an awesome experience!

What do you like to do when you are not working or volunteering with ARRT?

I enjoy crafting and singing in a community choir. In addition, I love to travel and spend time with my kids and grandkids.

The Mammography Exam Development Coordinator, Shelley Coutu, says: "Debbie has been a great addition to the Mammography Exam Committee. Her knowledge and experience is extensive and she clearly has a passion for mammography. Her experience specifically with training new technologists in mammography has been helpful for us in understanding what technologists are learning as new mammographers. "
