Images are important to all ARRT's exams. All images on exams are unique, which means they cannot be found in any other place, such as a book or an online source. Also, images cannot be used for any other purpose, such as an educational program or conference. ARRT exam images may include:

  • patient images obtained at a facility
  • imaging equipment or ancillary equipment
  • physical phantoms used for quality control
  • volunteers demonstrating patient positioning
  • drawings that depict physical principles
  • quality control images
  • quality control charts

Submitters of images for ARRT exams may not use artificial intelligence (AI) to create any images. The submitters must have complete rights to the images or have permission of the facility to submit the images. All images should be of professional quality.

If you would like to submit images, please send an email to volunteers@arrt.com and we will email you instructions about how you can submit them. Item writers may use images to write questions and get paid. If you are interested in writing exam questions, go to the landing page of the Volunteer Portal and follow the instructions to become an ARRT item writer or consultant.
