What first prompted you to volunteer with ARRT?

I wanted to advocate for the field more and what better way to be more involved than to volunteer for my credentialing body. It went hand in hand with my goals.

When did you start volunteering with ARRT?

2022

What type of volunteering have you done with ARRT?

I started out with the Breast Sonography Standard Setting and am currently serving on the Breast Sonography Exam Committee.

What do you enjoy the most about being a volunteer with ARRT?

The interaction and insight you receive from the different areas and experiences in radiology. Productivity just blossoms during these meetings and you can tell that everyone is here for a purpose, it's a wholesome enjoyment/experience.

If you could give advice to someone who is interested in volunteering with ARRT, what would that be?

Go for it! It is a truly fantastic opportunity that I am so grateful for! It provides another layer of understanding to the field that I don't think I could get anywhere else and I have made connections with some incredible people that I otherwise would've probably not made.

What do you like to do when you are not working or volunteering with ARRT?

I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, my bonus children, and my 3 adorable golden retrievers. We live in the rural Midwest so we enjoy various outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, boating, camping, hiking, and during the bitter cold months ice fishing, bowling, video games, and watching movies. I enjoy gardening and tending to my vast indoor plant collection. I love traveling, exploring new things, and meeting new people.

The Breast Sonography Exam Development Coordinator, Shelley Coutu, says: "Cassandra's contributions to the Breast Sonography Exam Committee are outstanding.  I've really enjoyed having her on the committee for the past few meetings. She is confident in her communication with the committee and it's clear that she has passion for her profession. I know that I can count her to be actively engaged in the work that we're doing together.  Thanks for everything you do, Cassandra!"
