What first prompted you to volunteer with the ARRT? I honestly did not even realize that volunteering for the ARRT was a real thing.  I mean, I took my first ARRT examination on paper in 1999 and never paid it anymore attention except for renewals.  It was not until I entered the world of education that I began to pay more attention to the opportunities around me.  I started volunteering for the JRCERT as a site visitor in 2018, and it was through that experience that I learned volunteering for the ARRT was a way to contribute to the profession.  Networking is an incredible tool that led me to the ARRT.

When did you start volunteering with ARRT? July 2019

What type of volunteering have you done with ARRT?  Committee Work: I have served on the Practice Analysis Committee, been involved with Radiography Standard Setting, and currently serve on the Radiography Exam Committee.

What did you enjoy the most about being a volunteer with ARRT? I have thoroughly enjoyed learning about all the inner workings of how exam items are written, the process for putting a test together, and the behind-the-scenes details that make the ARRT a leading credentialing organization.  Each meeting, I am always in awe of my peer's intellect and input into the process as well as the integrity of the process from start to finish.

If you could give advice to someone who is interested in volunteering with ARRT what would that be? Before someone can be interested in volunteering for the ARRT, they must know that it is an option. I always love sharing that I volunteer and how much I've learned.  And that it takes regular people like you and me to get the job done. The Volunteer Portal has a wealth of information for those interested in volunteering for the ARRT. I would tell them to check it out and just go for it!

What do you like to do when you are not working or volunteering with ARRT? I love hanging out with my family, watching movies, and completing puzzles.  This year has been especially busy with my daughter in nursing school and my son enjoying his senior year of high school.
