What first prompted you to volunteer with the ARRT?
What first prompted me to volunteer with ARRT was to try something new. I called in one day for a question about my certification, or maybe it was my CEUs, and the young lady that answered the phone asked me if I have ever considered volunteering. I had not but once she told me what was involved, it piqued my interest!

When did you start volunteering with ARRT?
I believe I applied for the volunteering role back in 2024 maybe.

What type of volunteering have you done with ARRT?
This was my first opportunity to volunteer with ARRT on the Mammography Exam committee.

What do you enjoy the most about being a volunteer with ARRT?
What I enjoy the most about becoming a volunteer with ARRT is being able to partner and collaborate with different mammographers, radiologists, physicists, and other partners in the imaging community.

If you could give advice to someone who is interested in volunteering with ARRT, what would that be?
If I could give one piece of advice to anyone interested or maybe intimidated by trying something new by becoming a volunteer, just try it. There is no right or wrong way to volunteer, just do it!

What do you like to do when you are not working or volunteering with ARRT?
What I enjoy doing when I am not working or volunteering with ARRT in my off time is traveling, shopping and enjoying quality time with my family!

Jennifer Edwards, the Assessment Development Coordinator for Mammography, says: "Shae has been a wonderful addition to the Mammography Exam committee. It can be very intimidating to attend your first meeting since you don't know what to expect, but Shae hit the ground running and cheerfully shared her perspective and experiences as a mammographer. She is a great collaborator with the other committee members as they all work together reviewing future test questions. We're glad to have you, Shae!"
